Honey locust is a wood with an exciting color, and it has a grain very similar to that of oak and ash, but the color is so vibrant… a bright… almost orange color. It’s tough for the untrained eye to tell honey locust from ash and oak, but it stands out because on the brightness of its color. Ash and oak have more subdued hues.
The piece pictured here is inlaid with turquoise that embellishes the character of the wood. The application of contemporary leg pieces affords a melding of the natural wood with modern metal.
